Why Travel Tuesday: Hanoi Night Lights

(Every Tuesday, I will be featuring a photograph from a place I have gone to, a photograph which I believe will inspire others to go out and see the world for themselves. For this week, Why Travel Tuesday features the bright and lively night lights of Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi.)

Hanoi Night Lights, Vietnam

The other day, I found myself weirded out by the strange calm and quiet of the place I was staying at. Then I realized I was no longer in the big, bright, and brash capital city of Vietnam—Hanoi. I guess that is what living in Hanoi for a few weeks does to you. It's chaotic from morning til night, especially at night when its bright and lively night lights, from motorcycles, vehicles, hotels, bars, and restaurants, fill the streets and alleyways. I tend to abhor big city chaos in my travels, but with its myths and legends, its temperate weather, its cheap and oh-so tasty food, its overall energy and so many other reasons, I tend to forgive Hanoi for it.

Do you generally like big cities? Why? Why not? Which is the one big city you really, really like?
