Why Travel Tuesday: The Campus of the University of the Philippines

(Every Tuesday, I will be featuring a photograph from a place I have gone to, a photograph which I believe will inspire others to go out and see the world for themselves. For this week, Why Travel Tuesday features the beautiful campus of the University of the Philippines in my hometown, Manila.)

UP Fallen Fire Trees

It was a little difficult to choose a photo for this week's #TTOT topic. That's because I don't really like the idea of staycations. However, if I did have a staycation back in my hometown of Manila, I would certainly spend it in the campus of my beloved university, the University of the Philippines in Diliman. It's still in Metro Manila, sure, but with the large area it occupies in the northern part of this big and chaotic capital city, it's a world on its own. Peace and quiet are easy to be had in this place. The beautiful fire trees blooming every summer in the campus helps, too.

Which part of your hometown would you consider staycation-ing in?

(Why Travel Tuesdays was inspired by #TTOT - the Travel Talk on Twitter. Started by the awesome folks at Traveldudes.org, #TTOT happens every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 9:30 p.m. GMT. Hundreds of travelers meet up online and tweet about various topics relating to travel. This week, the topic is Staycations.)
