Why Travel Tuesday: That First Sunset

(Every Tuesday, I will be featuring a photograph from a place I have gone to, a photograph which I believe will inspire others to go out and see the world for themselves. For this week, Why Travel Tuesday features the moment I fell in love with travel and photography: that first sunset.)

Puerto Galera, Mindoro, Philippines

I had been cooped up in my own little urban world that is Manila in the Philippines for quite some time then. I was oblivious to the world outside of my chaotic city, not knowing how much there is out there to explore. So when I did make that trip to Mindoro province, just a few hours south of Manila, I knew I was in for something quite huge. That evening, as we sat on the beach, I waited for the right moment, just when boats were all aligned, skies adequately clear, light just right, to capture my very first sunset. I believe that was the exact moment I fell in love with travel and photography.

When did *you* fall in love with travel and photography?

(Why Travel Tuesdays was inspired by #TTOT - the Travel Talk on Twitter. Started by the awesome folks at Traveldudes.org, #TTOT happens every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 9:30 p.m. GMT. Hundreds of travelers meet up online and tweet about various topics relating to travel. This week, the topic is Travel Photography.)
